Obituary for Dale M Hansen

Dale M. Hansen, 82 years, of Dakota Dunes, SD, formerly of Tekamah, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.

Dale was born to Edgar & Lucie (Hermann) Hansen on March 19, 1937 in Oakland, NE. Dale graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, NE in 1955. He was a member of the football team.

On November 3, 1956, Dale was united in marriage to Carolyn Neel in Bancroft, NE. Together they resided in the Tekamah area where Dale farmed & worked various jobs. They moved to Dakota Dunes at retirement. Dale had a gift to gab and he loved his Nebraska Cornhuskers. He showed his passion for Nebraska by purchasing most things in red. He loved his Honda Gold Wing three wheel motorcycle which he named ‘Dale’s Toy’.

Dale was proceeded in death by his parents: Edgar and Lucie Hansen; sister, Letha Eriksen; brother-in-law, Phil Eriksen.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Dakota Dunes; children: Jeanne Hansen of Dakota Dunes, Jay and Michelle Hansen of Fremont, NE, Jeff and Dianna Hansen of Norfolk, NE; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer (Lola) Hansen of Wathena, KS, Darwin (Marilyn) Hansen of Rosalie, NE.
