Obituary for Anita M Beckner
Anita Beckner was born at Thurston, NE on August 29, 1921 and passed away on July 28, 2019 at Oakland Heights, Oakland, NE. She grew up in the Walthill, NE area and graduated from Walthill in May 1940. She married Floyd Beckner on June 5, 1940 and to this marriage they had four children.
She was the classic farm housewife helping with the farm work, raising livestock, chickens, ducks, raising a big garden and cooking for family and friends.
Anita was famous for her pies and noodles. She loved to wallpaper, sewing, making crafts, writing poems, cutting hair, dancing, playing cards and Husker football. (going to Nebraska games since the early 1950's)
She was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons since the 1950's, active in the Presbyterian Women, Mariners, Bible Study and choir.
She is survived by her four children, Raymond (Phyllis) Beckner, Dennis (Gretchen) Beckner, Brian (Patty) Beckner, Debra (Dale) Webster, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Beckner, brothers, Philip Johnson and Derald Johnson; sisters, Doris Martin and Georgia Kautzsch.
