MARTHA “MICK” WICKSTROM was born February 18, 1938, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Charles and Helen (Gray) Miller. She passed away peacefully at her home in Oakland with her family by her side on Easter Sunday April 4, 2010. Mick was 72 years of age.

Mick attended Tekamah High School.

After making her home in Oakland, she worked at Nifty Thrifty and was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church in Oakland.

Mick loved it when springtime arrived and she could get her hands dirty in her beloved garden and tending to the many plants in the yard around her home.  No matter how busy she was Mick always found time for family especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

Survivors include her 5 daughters and sons-in-law, LouAnn and Rick Fitchhorn of Blair, Nebraska, Karen and Mitch Ray of St. Johns, Michigan, Carla and Bob Corwine of Oakland,  Peggy and Lee Peterson of Rosalie Nebraska, DeLaney and Ron Brudigam of Oakland; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donnie (Willie) Miller of La Mars, Iowa,  Frank (Mary) Miller of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 3 sisters, June (Richard) Stork of Blair, Nebraska, Alice Knight and Peggy Brestel of Tekamah, Nebraska;  a host of extended family and friends; and her very special and constant companion, “Cookie”.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, April 7, 2010, 10:30 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.

VISITATION: Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 5 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska
