LAWRENCE “WICK” WICKSTROM, 70 years, of Oakland, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at his residence in Oakland.

Lawrence was born January 26, 1939, to Clyde and Mabel (Schulz) Wickstrom of Oakland. He was raised on a farm Northeast of Oakland and found himself running the farm and supporting the family after his father’s sudden death in 1956.  Wick attended District 52 country school and graduated from Oakland High School in 1956.

Wick was known as a hard worker and a good friend.  His presence will be missed among his friends, family and at the morning coffee card game.

Survivors include his daughters: DeLaney Brudigam of Oakland, Anita Brumley of Edmunds, OK; sons:  Loren Wickstrom of Durango, CO, Dale Gribble of Kansas City, MO, Curtis Gribble of New York, NY; brother: Chuck Wickstrom of San Jose, CA; sister: Paula Modlin of Oakland; and 9 grandchildren.
