DARLEEN GAMMEL WARREN died peacefully at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012., at the age of 90 years. She joins her beloved late husband, John Henry Warren, who passed away April 1, 1986. Darleen was born September 25, 1921, on a farm between Craig and Tekamah, Nebraska, to Paul R. and Vera (McGrew) Gammel. She met John after World War II at a dance in Decatur and they were married January 10, 1948, in Walthill, Nebraska. Darleen attended Tekamah Public Schools graduating in 1939, and was part of the Tekamah-Herman Alumna program for close to 50 years. After graduation, she attended business college in Omaha for two years. Darleen worked for Lockheed Martin war plant in many locations across the United States. She managed the ASC Office along with doing bookkeeping in Tekamah. She enjoyed working with figures and did bookkeeping for the First Presbyterian Church, City of Tekamah and the Burt-Washington Drainage District Board. The Burt-Washington Drainage District honored her for 45 years of service just this last year. Darleen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She served as a cub scout leader and was also a member of the UPW and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Charles Gammel and Paul Gammel, Jr. and grandson, John Gregg Patton. Darleen is survived by her three sons, Lonnie (Dyann) Bucy of Rohnert Park, California, Leslie (Priscilla) Warren of Tekamah, Lindley (Kathy) Warren of Hastings, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Andrea Blades, Heather McKee, Asher Bucy, Seth (Kelly) Bucy, Collin Warren, Angela (Joseph) Douglas, Paige King, Ethan Warren, Lukas Warren and Matthew Warren ; seven great grandchildren, Jenna Blades, Cassandra McKee, Andrew Bucy, Ethan Bucy, Cameron Douglas, Hannah Douglas and Kale King.
