John Uhing

1929 ~ 2008

 

JOHN LENARD UHING was born February 10, 1929, in rural West Point, Nebraska to Carl and Catherine (Wortman) Uhing. He passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska at the age of 79 years.

John, a life-long farmer, was always interested in what crops were planted and he loved the cow herd. He also loved his family and spending time with his great nieces and nephews. John loved to visit and could always be seen wearing his John Deere cap.

John was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Arthur, Eugene, Herbert and Carl; sisters: Dorothy Von Seggern and Olivia Hare.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernard Uhing of Tekamah, Donald and Shirley Uhing of Uehling, Nebraska, Helen Uhing of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters and brother-in-law: Agnes Petersen of Blair, Nebraska, Helen and Merle Barr of Rockport, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.

 


FUNERAL MASS:  Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah, Nebraska.

VISITATION:  Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from 1- 8 p.m.  with a 7 p.m. PRAYER VIGIL  all at Pelan Funeral Service in Tekamah. Visitation will also be held Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.

INTERMENT:  St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in West Point, Nebraska.
