Frances Pearl Tranmer

FRANCES PEARL (McKAIN) TRANMER was born March 9, 1919, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Ethel (Seymour) and Kelsa McKain, Sr.  She passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years.

Frances grew up in the Riverside area.

On August 30, 1935, Frances married Wilber Leroy Tranmer at LeMars, Iowa. To this family two children were born: Raymond and Janice. They farmed in the Bertha community until they retired in the spring of 1975. In March 1977, they moved to Tekamah.

Frances was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Tekamah. Her hobbies included sewing, quilt making and crocheting afghans for her grandchildren. Frances dearly loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilber in 1989; three brothers, Edward McKain, Kelsa McKain Jr., Donald McKain; sister, Marie Grant; sister-in-law, Marge McKain.

Survivors include her son, Raymond (Alice) Tranmer of Tekamah; daughter, Jan (Dick) Bowden of Glenwood, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lillian (McKain) Deckard of Tekamah, Eunice McKain of Omaha; several nieces, nephews and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 26, 2009, 9:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

VISITATION: Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, 3 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Saturday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska
