Virginia "Sabina" Rose Toth

1919~ 2011

 

VIRGINIA (SABINA EREMEWICZ) TOTH was born July 29, 1919, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, to Sylvester and Sophia (Maksymowicz) Eremewicz. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at home in Craig, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years.

 Shortly after she her birth, the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where her parents owned and operated a family diner.  In 1937, she graduated from Marquette High School in Tulsa.

On June 28, 1941, Virginia married John A. Toth in St. Charles, Missouri.  To this union, eight daughters were born and raised on the family farm in St. Charles County.  Virginia was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Flint Hill, Missouri, until she moved to Craig in 2007.  She then became a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah, Nebraska.

The most important things in her life were her faith and family; followed by her love of gardening, flowers, crocheting, baking bread and making wine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; one brother; a daughter, Mary Ann Toth Angleitner; grandson, Lucas Holland; and her husband, John.

Virginia is survived by seven daughters, Jeannette (Jim) Harris of O'Fallon, MO, Geraldine (Mike) Ready of Sun City Center, FL, Louise (Mel) Gregory of Cadiz, KY, Susan (Ray) Haines of Columbia, MO, Katheryn Holland of Columbia MO, Ali (Kenny) Petersen of Tekamah, NE, and Stephanie (Bob) Boardley of Craig, NE, twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, one sister-in-law and two brothers -in-law.

FUNERAL MASS: Saturday, February 26, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Friday, February 25, 2011 3 - 8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation Saturday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Craig Cemetery, Craig, Nebraska

MEMORIALS: American Kidney Foundation or to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church Building Fund, Tekamah, NE.
