HARVE RAYMOND TAYLOR was born June 3, 1914, to Tom and Nora (Jackson) Taylor at their home in Decatur, Nebraska. He passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 95 years. On December 14, 1935, Harve and Dorothy Harmer were united in marriage in Pender, Nebraska. To this union five children were born: Harvetta, Nora Mae, Mary June, Brenda and Lonnie Joe. They made their home in Decatur until moving to Lyons in 1952. Harve was baptized and confirmed in the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons in 1989. Harve worked in road maintenance. He shared many good stories of his experiences throughout the years. After his retirement, he and Dorothy enjoyed gardening and outings together. They made many beautiful items for the United Methodist Women mission projects, such as quilts for Epworth Village, blankets for Aids babies, school kits and health kits for disasters in the United State and overseas. Harve was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; daughter, Nora Mae Dahlgren; son, Lonnie Joe; sons-in-law, Dale Olson, Sr. and Darrell Dahlgren; granddaughter, Jodean Marie Olson; grandson, Daniel Everett Olson; great granddaughter, Veronica Collins; eleven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughters, Harvetta Olson of Lyons, Mary (Harold) Luedert of Fremont, Nebraska, Brenda (Jack) Pettit of Sacramento, California; daughter-in-law, Deborah Taylor of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; brother, Jim Taylor of Decatur; 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons, Nebraska. VISITATION: Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 7 p.m. all at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons.
