Wilbur C. Snow

1918 ~ 2010

WILBUR C. SNOW was born September 21, 1918, in Lebanon, Missouri, to Clarence and May (Edwards) Snow. He passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, at the age of 92 years.

Wilbur served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II.

He married Evonne Hightree in 1953. Wilbur was a lifelong farmer in Burt County. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Wilbur loved to play the guitar and harmonica, and he was very good at it. He and brother, Lloyd, and Red Lamb, just to name a few, played all over Nebraska, Iowa  and anywhere else they could. Years ago he played on the old Fremont radio station KORN, and also played at the Iowa State Fair. At the Snow reunions it was always a treat to listen to Lloyd and Wilbur play their songs. In the past few years, Wilbur always had a radio close by to listen to music. Music was a huge part of Wilbur’s life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Allen; daughter, Kathy Jones and brother, Lloyd Snow.

Survivors include Evonne of Decatur; children, Roger Snow of Decatur, Sharon (Greg) Carlson, Larry (Kathy) Farrens, and Linda (Earnie) Parker all of Fremont, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, LaVaughn ( Clarence) Brosam, Norma Kay, Donna (Jerry) Kobs all of Blair; and his best friend, Lon Hood of Decatur.
