SHIRLEY MARIE SEAMAN was born January 4, 1939, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to George J. and Ella M. (Morrison) Ackerman. She passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, at the age of 69 years.

Shirley attended country grade school and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1956. Following high school, Shirley went to work at Wheeler Chevrolet in Tekamah and then worked for a short time in Omaha. She began working for Tyson’s which later became P & W, Inc. and then United Suppliers, Inc. She was employed in the same building for the different companies for over 30 years.

On March 13, 1964, Shirley and Richard C. Seaman were married at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. To this union two children were born: Lisa Kay on September 12, 1967 and Daniel Lee on August 16, 1974.

Shirley was active in the community. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and served on the church council. She also served in the Tekamah VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and sister: Patricia A. Haverkamp.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Lisa Kay and Harvey Hogancamp; son: Daniel Lee and friend, Mary Montgomery, of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandsons: Jake and Spencer Hogancamp both of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law: George and Rose Ackerman of Tekamah; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, October 6, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2 - 4 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will also be held Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska
