Eleanor Christina Schram

1929 ~ 2010

 

ELEANOR CHRISTINA SCHRAM was born July 6, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the sixth and youngest child born to Carl and Augusta (Flink) Johnson.  She passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years.

Eleanor and Kenny met in 1945 and were married July 16, 1946, in Omaha. They made their home there and Eleanor worked at Mutual of Omaha.  When she became pregnant with Mitch in 1951, she resigned from Mutual to become a full-time Mom. Ken and Eleanor had a second son, Mark, who lived only nine days. Janice arrived in 1955, Greg in 1956 and Marshall joined the family in 1961.

Eleanor was very happy on the farm and enjoyed taking care of her family and the giant gardens they tended together. She was tireless in the care of her husband and children.

She was preceded in death by infant son, Mark; parents, Augusta and Carl Johnson; brothers, Virgil and Irving Johnson; sister, Vivian Swanson.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth, Tekamah; sons, Mitchell (Sheri), Omaha, Greg and Marshall, Tekamah; daughter, Janice, Omaha; grandson, Matthew (Stacey), Bellevue; great granddaughter, Brittany, Bellevue; sisters, Virginia Jensen and Viola Pignotti, Omaha.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, August 23, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Tekamah

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery

VISITATION: Sunday with family receiving friends from 1- 3 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Monday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

MEMORIALS:  The Tekamah Library or Donor’s choice.
