Pauline Densmore Rufer

1929 ~ 2010

 

VERA PAULINE DENSMORE RUFER was born March 20, 1929, in Tekamah, Nebraska, and was one of 18 children born to Merlin and Ethel (Smith) Robinson. She passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, following a short illness at the age of 81 years. She had  been a resident of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for the past two years.

Pauline reside in the Tekamah area her entire childhood and the majority of her adult years. She graduated from Tekamah High School in 1947. Pauline was married to William Densmore from 1949 until his death in 1970. In 1982, she married LeRoy Rufer.

During her lifetime, she worked as a telephone operator and at Sharlo Mobile Home Factory before she retired. She and her daughter ran a day care in their home for 15 years. This was the most enjoyable job she ever had.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William Densmore and LeRoy Rufer; daughter, Vicky; brothers, Keith, David, Duane, Jerry, Tom, Merlin Jr. “Bub”; sisters, Wanda Welch, Jean Peterson, Janet Perry, Susan Martens and infant sister, Violet.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Hawley of Nebraska City; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Marilyn Robinson of Omaha, Carl and Sharon Robinson of Blair; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois  and Ken Lowe of Oklahoma City, OK, Rachel Williams of Omaha, Joyce Gregory of Fremont and many nieces and nephews.
