RICHARD M. ROTH was born to Clarence (C.T.) and Emily (Young) Roth September 6, 1935 in Pender, NE. He passed away April 14, 2010 at Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska at the age of 74.

Richard attended country school north of Beemer, NE until the age of 7. The family then moved west of Lyons, Nebraska. He was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE. He attended country school west of the family farm and later attended Lyons High School where he graduated in 1952. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Japan. Richard then returned home to join the family farm with his Mother and Father. He was still very active in the livestock and farming activities with his two children until his death. 

Richard enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and his dog, Wags. They gave him great joy. He loved going to farm and cattle sales. His hobbies included his cows and calves, drinking coffee and teasing as many people as possible.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.T. and Emily Roth.

Survivors include one son, Ronald and his special friend Melissa of Pender; daughter, Marsha Roth of Wayne, Nebraska; two granddaughters, Haley and Samantha Roth of Pender.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, April 19, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Sunday 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL WITH FLAG PRESENTATION: Bancroft Cemetery, Bancroft, Nebraska
