Jerry W. Rennerfeldt

JERRY WALLACE RENNERFELDT was born to Wallace and Ethel (Johnson) Rennerfeldt, December 15, 1923, in Oakland, Nebraska. He passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Oakland Mercy Hospital after a brief illness, at the age of 86 years.

Jerry grew up on farms near Oakland and later moved to town. He attended country school and graduated from Oakland High School in 1942. While attending Wayne State College, he met Margaret Hovendick. They were married April 9, 1944, at the Hovendick family farm near Herman, Nebraska.

Jerry spent the war years working at the Martin Bomber Plant in Bellevue, Nebraska. After the war, he moved to Oakland where he lived until his death. Jerry was a long time Oakland business man, and member of the Chamber of Commerce. He spent his remaining working years as office manager at Paus Motor Sales in West Point, retiring at the age of 80. A member of First Methodist Church for most of his life; Jerry enjoyed serving the youth after school program. He also served as host for the Swedish Heritage Center and until failing health, served on the library board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jay and Jimmy.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons and daughters in law, Dale and Margie of Sioux Falls, SD, Evan and Kathy of Oakland, Noel and Margaret of Rockford, Il; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harland and Sally of West Point, NE. Dallas and Marlene of Helena, MT; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Melvin Newill of Missoula, MT; sister-in-law, Peggy (Mrs. Jay) Rennerfeldt of Papillion, NE; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, August 27, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland.

BURIAL: Pioneer Cemetery, rural Oakland, Nebraska
