EUNICE "SUE" RAVER was born July 16, 1934, to Elmer and Martha (Boldt) Gerch on a farm southwest of Bancroft in Cuming County, Nebraska. She passed away October 22, 2011, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years with her husband, Roger at her side. She attended Zion Lutheran School near Bancroft for eight years. Then went to Bancroft High for two years and graduated from Rosalie High School in 1952. She moved to Craig, Nebraska, with her folks in 1953. Her first job was working for Jean Vogt at the Craig Cash Store. After various jobs, she became co-owner of Rog & Sue’s Retreat in Craig. On April 18, 1958, she married Roger Raver at the Craig Presbyterian Church. They were parents of six children and made their home in Craig. Sue was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, served on the Craig Cemetery board, and was a member of the Craig Legion Auxiliary for over forty years. Sue enjoyed many years of bowling leagues, softball games, and playing cards with family and friends. She had a generous heart and would do anything to help others. She especially treasured all the times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, Bob and Ronnie; two daughters, Connie and Julie; two brothers, Les and Gerald Gerch; five sisters, Harriet, Janice, and Linda Gerch, and Betty Rouse. Survivors include her husband; Roger Raver of Craig, NE; two daughters, Jean (Bart) Meyer of Craig, NE, Cathy (Dan) Hall of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, Jan Raver of Tekamah, NE; sisters-in-law, Karen Raver of Cheney, WA, Joan Gerch of Craig, NE, Joyce Raver of Tekamah, NE; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, October 27, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Craig. VISITATION: Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 2 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 7 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
