Manford "Jack" Peterson

1922 ~ 2010

Manford Sylvester “Jack” Peterson was born on January 19, 1922 in Boone County, Nebraska to Elmer and Hilda Peterson. He passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Logan Valley Manor in Lyons, Nebraska at the age of 88 years.

In 1931 the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he began school.  In 1938 they moved to Rosalie, Nebraska where he completed his formal education.

In 1940 he began working at the Bell aircraft plant in Niagara Falls, New York.  He later moved to Omaha to work at the Martin Bomber plant.  Jack served 2 years as a gunner with the US Air force. 

Jack was married on June 9, 1956 in Elgin, Illinois to Margaret Sailors.  Margaret passed away on July 2, 1998.

He has spent much of his life in the area around Rosalie and Walthill, Nebraska.  He is a member of the Robert Klase VFW Post #7998 of Lyons, Nebraska and the Rosalie United Methodist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; stepdaughter Shirley Parker; brothers, Hugo and Harold Peterson.

Jack is survived by grandsons: Todd Parker and Tim Parker both of Walthill; brother, Melvin Peterson of Rosalie, Nebraska.
