BRUCE A. PETERSON was born June 10, 1933, in Wausa, Nebraska, to Arnold and Hilda (Angster) Peterson.  He passed away Saturday September 19, 2009 at the Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska.

Bruce graduated from Oakland High School in 1950.
               

On September 13, 1953, Bruce and Marlene Gibbs were married in Craig, Nebraska. They had three children.

Bruce served in the U. S. Army from August 1954 to August 1956. Following his discharge, he returned to Burt County and farmed for the rest of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Carla Lindstrom, Lois Helzer, Norma Beutler and Jo Ann Gunderson; sister-in-law, Nola Peterson; brother-in-law, John Helzer.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marlene of Oakland; sons, Bruce Alan of Orion, Florida, Terry of Foristell, Missouri; daughter, Kathy of Rochester, Minnesota;  three grandchildren; two brothers, Jim and Roger (Elaine) Peterson all of Oakland; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Beutler of Bancroft, Nebraska; Dick Gunderson of Minnesota;  many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

PRIVATE FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Craig Cemetery, Craig, Nebraska.

MILITARY HONORS: American Legion Posts No. 127 and 46, Ryan VFW Post No. 5543.
