LINDA KAY PETERSEN was born to Charles and Lora (Davis) Fleming on July 16, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska.  She passed away Monday, August 31, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 57 years.

She married Garry Petersen on August 7, 1970, in Tekamah, NE, which is where they made their home.  They had four children:  Curt, Doug, Jenny and Brett. 

Linda spent much of her life as a homemaker, but as the kids got older, she worked in Tekamah at the Tekamah Nursing Center, Cubby’s and Save More Market.  She made many lasting friends at each of these jobs.  Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Tekamah, where she participated in women‘s groups and helped with kids‘choir.

One of Linda’s biggest joys was her nine grandchildren.  She looked forward to each visit from them and enjoyed watching them grow.  Linda also had a passion for music, and enjoyed singing in the church choir.  One of her most recent passions was reading books.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, John L. Fleming, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Garry of Tekamah; three sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Renee Petersen of Tekamah, Douglas and Serena Petersen of Queen Creek, Arizona, Brett Petersen of Raeford, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Jeff Dick of Raeford, North Carolina; three brothers and sisters-in-law,  Chuck and Del Fleming of Arlington, Nebraska, John and Kate Fleming of Elkhorn, Nebraska, David Fleming of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren,  Katelyn, Hayley, Megan, Josh, Zach, Lacey, William, Wyatt and Weston; many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, September 4, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.
