PAUL DEAN ORRIS, 63, of Decatur, Nebraska died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home in Decatur with his wife, Edie at his side. He was known to his family and many friends as"Mike" or "Gator".

Paul was born March 25, 1946 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Dean and Betty (Compton) Orris. He grew up in Akron, Iowa, graduating from Akron High School in 1964. He was in the Army National Guard out of Sioux City, Iowa while yet in high school and served in the U.S. Army (1964 - 1967), stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and in Butzbach, Germany.

On June 30, 1967 he married Edie M. Place in Sioux City, Iowa. After a separation that began in 1972, their marriage was restored in 2001. Paul said of himself concerning all the different jobs he had worked that he was ‘a jack of all trades but master of none’. In 2001 Follow the Fish MC Ministries was born and they ministered especially to bikers. That ministry came to a halt after Paul was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in June of 2008. He fought a good fight but was ready to go to his rest.

Paul loved spending time with Jesus, his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his friends. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, and most of all riding his bike (later his trike) with his wife behind him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant grandchildren.

Survivors include his dear wife: Edie;  daughter and her husband: Margo and Dave Leisinger of Moville, IA, sons and their wives: Jeremy and Alison Orris of Carson City, NV,  Michael and Carol Orris of Spencer, IA; daughter: Dream Weaver of St Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; sisters and their husbands: Pat and Larry Michael of Akron, IA, Terri and LeRoy Carlson of Norfolk, NE,  Becky and Dick Frerichs of Sioux Falls, SD, brothers: John Orris of Rochester, MN, Robert Orris of Akron, IA; sister and her husband: Debbie and Dave Baker of The Colony, TX;many nieces; nephews; grand-nieces and nephews; special friends: Jim and Randi Mackey of LeMars, IA and Larry and DeEtte Bryce of Sioux City, IA.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, April 6, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Decatur Restoration Branch, Hwy 51/75 or 913 Fourth Avenue with a lunch to follow the graveside service.

BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur with Military Honors by the VFW Gleason-Rogers Post No. 6926 and American Legion Rogers-Crum Post No. 215

VISITATION: Monday one hour prior to the service.
