RAYMOND "RICK" OLSON was born August 14, 1934, in Washington, County, Nebraska, to Clarence and Myrtle (McDonald) Olson. He passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years. The loves of Rick's life were his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He was married to his best friend, Judy Beaver, on April 14, 1954, also of Tekamah. They spent nearly 56 years together. They resided on the Missouri River since 1973, where countless memories were made with family and friends. Rick and Judy were blessed with four children, Linda, Mike, Mitch, and Rob. His passion for hunting was also his work and he was able to spend his time with family and friends doing what he loved. He enjoyed attending Country Bible Church (when the geese weren't flying). Rick’s lifetime passion of hunting was the inspiration for this commercial hunting business in Julesburg, Colorado and Tekamah for the past forty years. In 1968, he designed his first steel hunting blind, finally fabricating fiberglass blinds in 1998. Today, his fiberglass blinds are sold throughout the United States. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Myrtle Olson; brothers, Carroll and June Olson; grandchild, Benjamin Olson; nephew, Randy "Rhubarb" Olson; and special friend, "Coondog". He is survived by his wife, Judy of Tekamah; daughter, Linda (Jeff) Hanawalt of Houston, TX; sons, Mike (Robin), Mitch (Connie), Rob (Lynn) all of Tekamah; ten grandchildren, JW, Ryan, and Beka Hanawalt, Lyndsay, Shannon, MacKenzie, Kyle Olson, Miss Dottie Olson, Brandy, Brad, and Brittney Olson; one great-grandson, Rylan James; brothers, Lloyd (Doris) of Tekamah, Ron (Kathy) of Valley, NE; sister, Ann (Raymond) Warren of Elkhorn, NE; sister-in-law, Jaccie Olson of Dakota City, NE; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
