CHERYL MAUREEN NOEL was born October 26, 1943, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Henry and Dorothy (Entrekin) Doncheski. She passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at the Pender Care Centre in Pender, Nebraska, at the age of 65 years, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Cheryl’s first home was on her grandparents’, Joe and Julia Entrekin, farm near Bertha, Nebraska, where she and her mother lived while her daddy was at war in Europe. They moved to Tekamah, where Cheryl attended grade school and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1961. She graduated from Bahner College of Hairstyling in Fremont.

On October 21, 1962, Cheryl and Virgil Ellsworth Noel were united in marriage at Tekamah, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Jody, Janelle and Chad. They lived in Decatur, Nebraska, where Cheryl had a hair salon. They later moved to Tekamah, where she was a homemaker and custodian for her church, the Plaindealer and Post Office.

Cheryl was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she was baptized with her family in 1976. Cheryl enjoyed Sunday church, helping with High Time, church circle and bible study.
Cheryl  also enjoyed traveling to the North Carolina sea shore, trail rides and bonfires, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil In July 1995 and mother, Dorothy in January 2009.

Survivors include her daughters, Jody (Gary) Davis of Pender, Nebraska, Janelle Weeces and friend, Kent Warden, of Herman, Nebraska; son, Chad (Sara) Noel of Tekamah; seven grandchildren, Ethan  and Joshua, Ryan (Jiliane),Preston, Gage, Gavin and Garrett; one great grandson, Noah; father, Henry Doncheski of Tekamah; sister, Gae (Tony) Montoya of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Randy (Peg) Doncheski of Lincoln, Nebraska.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 12, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Tekamah.

VISITATION:Friday September 11, 2009, 3 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Saturday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery.
