RONALD GENE NEUHAUS was born May 29, 1967, to Larry and Helene (Lase) Neuhaus at the Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska. He passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 42 years. Ron became a child of God, an heir of the kingdom of heaven through baptism at St. John’s Lutheran Church on June 18, 1967. He was confirmed April 12, 1981. Ron attended school in Lyons graduating from Lyons High School in 1985. He graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln with a degree in welding. Ron was married to Kristi Wiechmann on August 27, 1988. They were married for thirteen years and had four children. He farmed and was employed at Ivan’s Welding, Bancroft, Nebraska for several years. Most recently, he was employed by Application Services, Inc. as a superintendent. Ron was preceded in death by grandparents, Martin and Mildred Lase, and Arnold Neuhaus; and uncle, Donald Neuhaus. Survivors include his son, Taylor; three daughters, Kaylie, Shay and Janae all of Lincoln, Nebraska; parents: Larry and Helene of Lyons; brothers and sister-in-law, Kelly of Longmont, Colorado, Kevin and Lyda of Spirit Lake, Iowa; two nieces, Jacy of Longmont, Elena of Spirit Lake; nephew, Gavin of Longmont; grandmother, Dorothy Neuhaus of Lyons; significant other, Christine Cooney and her children, Caitlin, Brighid, Mack and Eli all of Lincoln; and a host of relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, July 14, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons, Nebraska. VISITATION: Monday, July 13, 2009, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons. Visitation Tuesday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Nebraska MEMORIALS: Donor's Choice. The Class of 1985 (Ronnie's class) is setting up a Ronnie Neuhaus Memorial Educational Fund for his 4 children sponsored by the Lyons Decatur Northeast Class of 1985 at First National Bank of Lyons.
