DONALD ARNOLD NEUHAUS was born March 19, 1935, at Lyons, Nebraska, to Arnold and Dorothy (Swanson) Neuhaus. He passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at his home in Lyons, Nebraska, at the age of 72 years.

Donald was baptized as an infant by Rev. J. Harms of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He became a child of God, an heir of the family of God. He was a special child and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Donald attended church faithfully his entire life and he communed at the Lord’s Table along with his family. Don was happy to be able to help with the farm work and enjoyed mowing and riding his bike around town. He made our family better because he was “Special”, a gift from God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold; his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Osean Swanson and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Neuhaus.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy; brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Helene Neuhaus all of Lyons; nephews: Kelly, Kevin and Ron Neuhaus; five great nieces and two great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, March 7, 2008, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Thursday, March 6, 2008, 1- 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons. Visitation will also be held Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.
