KIMBERLY JUNE KNIGHT NELSEN was born October 14, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Oren Jr. and Alice (Miller) Knight. She passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, as a result of injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Washington County, Nebraska, at the age of 46 years.

The Knight family moved to Tekamah when Kim was five years of age. Kim graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1982.

In 1982, Kim married Jim Nelsen and they moved to Montana, where they raised their two boys: Richard and Jerrad. Kim worked as a purchasing agent for a hospital and also worked with disabled adults. She loved being with them.  When Kim returned to Nebraska, she pursued a career in insurance. She was employed in insurance sales and underwriting at Connealy Insurance in Tekamah.

Kim has been active in several churches and was a member of the Herman Community Church.

She loved the mountains, hiking, riding motorcycles, cross country skiing and always had a beautiful flower garden. She loved her family, her two grandsons, Nathan and Conner, meant the world to her.

Kim was a very kind, generous and caring person. She had a contagious laugh and smile that made everyone around her laugh and smile with her. She was always willing to lend a hand to others. Anyone, whose life was touched by Kim, felt the love she had for them.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Oren Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Nelsen of Blair, Jerrad of Tekamah; grandsons, Nathan and Conner of Blair; mother, Alice Knight of Tekamah; sister, Tammie Ferris of Omaha; brothers, Greg (Susan) Knight of Papillion, Chuck Knight of Omaha.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, July15, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Country Bible Church, rural Blair.

VISITATION:Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Thursday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
