MARY NELL MEYER was born August 10, 1916, in Fremont, Nebraska, to G.A. and Nellie (Nelson) Westergren. She passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Home in Scribner, Nebraska, at the age of 93 years. Mary Nell lived on the farm south of Uehling, where she attended country school. She graduated from Uehling High School. On June 11, 1939, she married Herman H. Meyer at Swaburg. They lived on the farm south of Uehling before moving to Bemidji, Minnesota. They returned to Uehling and in 1965 moved to Scribner. Herman passed away January 1, 1988. Mary Nell worked at the Scribner Rustler and Grosserode Drug. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, Smiles and was a long-time member of Alanon. She enjoyed painting and sewing. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; two infant brothers and brother, Charles Westergren Sr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary K. and James Larson of rural Malcom, Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. and Phyllis Meyer of Uehling, Neal and Gwen Meyer of Washington State, Stephen and Patsy Meyer of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tim Meyer and his girlfriend, Vicki Melton; twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. VISITATION: Monday 1 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
