PHYLLIS ARLENE (DEAVER) MCVEIGH was born to Hugh Clark and Iva (McDonald) Deaver on September 26, 1933, on a farm near Tekamah, Nebraska. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home in Tekamah, at the age of 77 years.

Phyllis was a life-long resident of Tekamah, graduating from Tekamah High School in 1951 and later attending Dana College for 1 year.

On October 6, 1979, Phyllis married her best friend, Philip McVeigh and they enjoyed 32 wonderful years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Erlewine; and grandsons, Chay and Ethan.

Survivors include her husband, Phil of Tekamah; daughters, Debbie (Tim) Cornish, Mary (Brian) Wortman of Tekamah, Jackie (Jeff) Siebels of Gretna; sons, Daniel (Paula) Erlewine of Yankton, SD, Craig (Anne) McVeigh of Lincoln; sisters, Jennie (John) Condon of Omaha, Agnes Bowden of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Betty Deaver of Dallas Center, IA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, March 28, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

VISITATION: Sunday 4 - 6 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery
