EDNA ELIZABETH (BARGER) MCCLELLAN was born December 30, 1919, in Blair, Nebraska, to Charles A. and Dora (Salsbury) Barger. She passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years. Edna graduated from Tekamah High School. During World War II, she worked for the civil service on propeller blades in California, Texas and Sioux City. She returned to Tekamah, where she and her sisters ran a restaurant. On June 28, 1947, Edna and Marvin K. “Red” McClellan were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah. To this union two children were born: Kjarton Lynn and John Robert. In 1954, they moved to a farm west of Tekamah, where they farmed until moving back into Tekamah for health reasons. Marvin passed away December 28, 1999. Edna was active in the Craig United Methodist Church and the Craig American Legion Auxiliary. She liked to garden and some of her vegetables were prize winners at the Burt County Fair. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; son, John Robert; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cora and Earl Elliott, Lucille and Otto Lebduska, Robert Taylor; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth, Jack and Joan Barger. Survivors include her daughter, Kjarton McClellan; sister, Norma Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Dart Barger all of Tekamah; many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 29, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at the Craig United Methodist Church, Craig, Nebraska. VISITATION: Friday, May 28, 2010, 1 - 5 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah.
