BERDEAN U. LITEL was born October 25, 1922, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Lloyd and Bertha (Owens) Holiday. She passed away Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years.

Berdean graduated from Newport High School in Newport, Nebraska in 1937.

On May 18, 1940, Berdean married Keith Litel at the Methodist parsonage in Tekamah. They lived most of their married life on a farm in the Arizona Township. To this union three children were born, Barbara, John and Richard.

Berdean was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tekamah

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; daughter, Barbara Feiling; infant brother and brothers, Merle & Robert Holiday; sister, Bettie Cowell and an infant grandson.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Connie Litel of Lancaster, California, Rick & Sarah Litel-Smith of Papillion, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, September 15, 2011, 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah, Nebraska

VISITATION: Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 5 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Thursday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
