CURTIS JOHN LANDHOLM was born to John Norman and Dolores Elaine (Peterson) Landholm in Oakland, Nebraska, on February 17, 1950. He passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, Nebraska, at the age of 59 years. Curt graduated from Oakland High School in 1968 and Southeast Community College in 1987 with a degree in Fire Protection Technology. On May 3, 1969, Curt married Beverly Sue Case at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. From this union two children were born, Alisa Lynn and Daniel Robert. Curt and Bev lived in the Oakland/West Point area for much of their life. They spent the last 16 years on the farm in which his grandfather homesteaded. Curt was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. He began his Emergency Medical Services (EMS) career while serving as a medic in the Army from 1970-1972. He taught in the EMS field for over 30 years across the state of Nebraska. He was an honorary member of the Nickerson Fire and Rescue and Oakland Fire and Rescue. He served on the Midlands EMS council and Northeast Nebraska Task Force and as an Affiliate Faculty for the American Heart Association. He was a faculty member at Metro Community College, Northeast Community College, Southeast Community College, Central Community College and Little Priest College.Curt was named Instructor of the Year of the Nebraska Emergency Medical Service Association. Curt was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Bev; daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and David Uhing of West Point; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Sara of Crystal Lake, IL; grandsons, Bryce, Wyatt and Tavis Uhing of West Point, Griffin Landholm of Crystal Lake, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Sam Nelson of Lincoln, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clair and Doris of Norfolk, Carlton and Janet of Harbor City, CA, Clayton of West Hollywood, CA and Charles of Long Beach, CA; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Emmett and Susan Case of Ashland, OH, Delbert and Marge Case of St. Paul, MN, Norm and Janice Case of Oakland and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland, Nebraska. MILITARY HONORS: American Legion Post No. 46 and Ryan VFW Post No. 5543 BURIAL: Westside Cemetery, rural Oakland VISITATION: Tuesday, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
