SHIRLEY M. KINSEY, of Tekamah, Nebraska, formerly of Sunrise Beach, Missouri. SHIRLEY MAE (CORNISH) KINSEY was born December 15, 1919, in Tekamah, Nebraska to William and Laura (Fowle) Cornish. She passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah at the age of 88 years. Shirley graduated from Tekamah High School and attended beauty college. Shirley married Paul Kinsey. The couple had two children: David and Karen and lived in Omaha, Nebraska for many years. Paul preceded her in death. Shirley was a beauty operator for several years. Then she worked at Sear for over 25 years. She loved waiting on her customers. Many of the customers would ask for Shirley when they came to shop because she knew just the paint they wanted. She also enjoyed working in the linen department for many years. Shirley loved polka dancing, playing the organ and riding motorcycles, even into her 70’s. She was also preceded in death by parents and sister, Evelyn Harr. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: David and Faith Kinsey of Pocatello, Idaho; daughter: Karen Shaw of Sacramento, California; three grandchildren; two sisters: Wilma Petersen of Tekamah, Rosamond Haughton and her husband, Frank, of Dallas, Texas; brother: Jim Cornish and his wife, Gayle, of Tekamah and long-time companion: Jim Tanner of Sunrise Beach, Missouri. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 1:30 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery MEMORIALS: The United Methodist Church in Tekamah.
