HAZEL MARIE GOLDSBERRY KILBOURN passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin, Kansas, at the age of 94. She was born February 17, 1914, in Diller, Nebraska, to Jacob and Cornelia (Willems) Lottman. Hazel grew up in the Diller area along with her three brothers and four sisters. She attended elementary school in Diller and graduated from high school in Fairbury, Nebraska, in 1931. On August 24, 1933, Hazel was united in marriage to Floyd Goldsberry in Washington, Kansas, where they made their home. They later moved to Fairbury, Nebraska and then to Tekamah, Nebraska. A son and two daughters were born to their union. Hazel enjoyed being a mom and making a home for her family. She was a wonderful cook and liked to bake and can produce. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint. Floyd preceded her in death in December 1980. She married Charles Kilbourn on August 19, 1984, in Tekamah, Nebraska, They made their home in Ames, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in September 2006. Hazel was a member of the Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church in Ames, Nebraska. She also belonged to a bridge club, book club and numerous social clubs. In November of 2007, Hazel moved to the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bill. She enjoyed her time there and the new friendships she made with fellow residents and the center's staff. In addition to her two husbands, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Priefert; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Tim and Donna Goldsberry of Lincoln, NE, and Judy and Bill Ladehoff of Oberlin; a son-in-law, Erv Priefert of Marysville, KS; one sister, Dorothy Wiesner of St. Paul, MN; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Barbara (Bob) VandeVenter of Panora, IA, Charlene Spelman of Reno, NV, Charles E. Kilbourn of Ames, NE; 8 stepgrandchildren; 8 stepgreat grandchildren. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, April 19, 2008, 1:30 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska MEMORIALS: Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin, Kansas or Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church in Ames, Nebraska.
