LYNN JOHNSON was born April 4, 1930, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Gilbert and Reva (Pounds) Johnson.  He passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at his home in Oakland at the age of 79 years.

Lynn graduated from Oakland High School in 1947. He served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged in June 1952.

Lynn was a life-long resident of Oakland, where he was employed by many local businesses which included driving truck for Larson Farm Services, Pearson Farm Services and Helena. For many years Lynn also provided maintenance and security at the Burt County Fairgrounds. He was a 40-year member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.

Lynn enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and feeding the squirrels and birds at Four Trees. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing stock cars. Lynn was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sister, June Terracciano of Hemet, California; two nephews, Everett (Sharon) Carlson and Lowell (Carmen) Carlson of Fremont.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, July 17, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
