LORETTA L. JOHNSON was born August 5, 1927, at Obert, Nebraska to Louie Holger and Inger Jensena (Hansen) Nielsen. She passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, at her home in Oakland, at the age of 83 years.

Loretta married Russell Nichols. They had two daughters, Margene and Vicky. They divorced in 1954, and Loretta moved to Oakland, where she worked for her parents at the Hilltop Cafe.

On April 12, 1962, Loretta married Lester E. Johnson, who was born and raised in Oakland.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; husband, Lester; and grandson, Scott E. Swenson.

Survivors include her daughters: Margene (Ron) Swenson, Vicky Nichols all of Oakland; five grandsons: David (Nola) Swenson of Hooper, NE, Ron Jr.(Christi) Swenson  of El Dorado Hills, CA, Christopher (Mel) Swenson of Craig, NE, Matthew (Sally) Urbanec of Omaha, Nebraska, Michael Nichols and his friend, Sara, of Oakland;  ten great grandchildren; stepsons, Lester B. Johnson and Rex (Joy) Johnson of Lakewood, Washington.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Oakland.

VISITATION: Tuesday 1-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation Wednesday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
