LANE E. JOHNSON was born November 24, 1956, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska, to Carrol and Patty (Wedergren) Johnson.  He passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, at the age of 55 years.

Lane was baptized and confirmed into the First Congregational Church in Uehling, Nebraska.

He attended District No. 37 in rural Lyons and District No. 81 in rural Oakland through his elementary years. He graduated from Oakland Craig High School in 1975. Lane lived in Lincoln with his sister, Roxie since 1977.

Lane had a love of learning, attending University of Nebraska and Wesleyan University completing four years of college, as well as continuing in other educational courses he found of interest.

Throughout the years, Lane worked at the Oakland Hay Mill, Valmont Industries and Constructors. He was currently employed at the Lincoln Journal Star and Molex.

Lane was a plain and simple man who kept to himself but enjoyed everyone. He always inquired about how everyone was and what they were doing. He really enjoyed teasing the nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Carrol E. Johnson and infant sister, Nancy Jo.

Survivors include his mother, Patty Johnson of Oakland, NE; sisters, Roxie Johnson of Lincoln, Christy (Dennis) Jones of Oakland; brother, Bub (Joan) Johnson of Lincoln; many nieces and nephews, Annie (Tim) Magnusson of Oakland, Jeff Jones of Oakland, Jason (Carie) Jones, Curt, Ben and Heidi Johnson all of Lincoln, as well as many great- nieces and nephews.
