LARRY MALCOLM JENSEN was born December 15, 1938 in Pembina, North Dakota to Malcolm and Roselia (Larson) Jensen. He passed away Friday, June, 24, 2011 at his home in Lyons, Nebraska at the age of 72.

Larry attended school at Wakefield, Nebraska and Emerson, Nebraska. He graduated from Emerson High School in 1956.

Following high school, he entered the United States Air Force on October 1, 1956 and served his country for nine years.

On April 1, 1962, he married Wanda Relitz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska. Larry and Wanda had three sons, Rich, Stacie, and Toby.

After leaving the Air Force, Larry attended Wayne State College from 1965 to 1967, then transferred to the University of Nebraska and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and a degree in Pharmacy.

In July, 1972, Larry and Wanda purchased Loppnow Pharmacy and moved to Lyons Nebraska. Loppnow Pharmacy was changed to Jensen’s Pharmacy and was owned and operated by Larry and Wanda for 35 years following their retirement in 2005.

Larry enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and hunting. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons and also served on the City Council and Burt County Fair Board for many years.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Lyons, Nebraska, his sons, Rich of Cozad, Nebraska, Stacie of Lincoln, Nebraska, Toby and his wife Kelli of Seattle, Washington, one granddaughter, Eleanor Grey, sisters Candess (Ken) Headlee of Bancroft, Nebraska, Renita (Tim) Wichert of Grand Island, Nebraska, brothers, Jerry of Lincoln, Nebraska, Terry of Bend Oregon, and many friends and family. 

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons.

MEMORIAL GATHERING: The Family will receive friends Monday, June 27th from 5 - 7 p.m. at their home in Lyons, 925 Lincoln Street

BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery with Military Honors by Harvey Lenig American Legion Post No. 83 and Robert Klase VFW Post No. 7998
