Verna I. Jackson, 97, of Tekamah, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah.
She was born August 25, 1911 in Lebanon, Missouri, to James and Delia Dinkins. She attended school at rural Riverside, District 6.
Verna married Lloyd Jackson on January 20, 1934 in Papillion, Nebraska. They moved to a farm house east of Tekamah where Lloyd worked for the Tobin brothers. In 1951 they bought their farm east of Tekamah and lived there until 1963 when they built their home in Tekamah.
Verna was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Tekamah. She belonged to her bridge clubs, knitting club and was a member of the Chatt Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother: Lee Dinkins, and sister: Verda Jensen.
Verna is survived by one son, Larry Jackson and wife, Donette, of Tekamah; three grandchildren: Kent Jackson and wife Viki of Tekamah, Dyann Hernandez of Fremont, NE, Leslie Schlecht and husband Brad of Scribner, NE; two great-grandchildren: Derek and Katelynn of Fremont..
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, Nebraska
VISITATION: Sunday, April 26, 2009, 1-8 pm with family receiving friends from 6-8pm at the Pelan Funeral Services Tekamah.
BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery
