ALMEDA MARGARET HURLOCKER, 97 years of Tekamah, Nebraska, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, Nebraska. Almeda was born June 13, 1912, in Decatur, Nebraska to Ira and Ethel (Connealy) Austin. She attended school at Elm Creek in Burt County and Mt. St. Mary’s in Omaha. She received her degree in education from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. On April 18, 1936, Almeda and C. W. “Jack” Hurlocker were united in marriage in Tekamah. They had two children, C. Kent and Mary Kathryn. Almeda was a life-long resident of Burt County. She taught school for thirty years in rural schools and the last ten years at Craig, Nebraska. Almeda was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.W. “Jack” in August 1963; and brothers, John and Max Austin; and sisters, Alyce Don Farrens and Marguarite Dean. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Judy Hurlocker of Tekamah; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and William Woodall of Omaha; five grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and one great grandson.FUNERAL MASS: Thursday, November 5, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah, Nebraska BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska VISITATION: Wednesday, 1 - 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 - 8 pm with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service all at Pelan Funeral Home Tekamah. Thursday visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church MEMORIALS: St. Patrick's Building Fund, Tekamah Library, Burt County Museum, and Tekamah Fire and Rescue.
