CLARICE D. (SAMSON) HENNIG was born May 30, 1929, on the family farm at Rosalie, Nebraska, to Frank A. and Antonia H. (Posvar) Samson. She passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009, at her home in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 80 years. Clarice graduated from Rosalie High School in 1947. She married the neighbor’s son, Harry E. Hennig August 12, 1947, on the Samson farm. This union was blessed with 5 children. Clarice was an active member of the Friendship Club, a Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader, choir member and alto soloist. She loved music, sewing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and word games. Harry and Clarice traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe, spending a lot of time camping. They were “die-hard” Cornhusker fans following the Nebraska Football team to many bowl games over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an active participant in the family farm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; an infant daughter, Penny Sue; sisters, Bernice Tisbert, Vivian Beukema, Gale Rathbun and Joyce Turner. Survivors include her children, Rita (Pat) Masters of Santa Rosa, CA; Joy (Thomas) Landholm of South Sioux City, NE; Lori (Rod) Krause of Homer, NE and Marlon (Michelle) Hennig of Rosalie, NE; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Floy (Glenn) Nansen of Detroit Lakes, MN. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Rosalie, Nebraska. VISITATION: Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 4 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. and a 7:00 p.m. PRAYER SERVICE all at the First United Methodist Church in Rosalie. Visitation Wednesday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Nebraska. MEMORIALS: To the Family or Donor's Choice
