STANLEY M. "BUCK" HARNEY was born March 12, 1955, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Dorman and Cleora “Si” (Dinehart) Harney. He passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, at the University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, after a brief battle with cancer. Stan graduated from Oakland-Craig High School in 1973. In August 1973, he joined the Air Force with his brother and two other friends. He was discharged in February 1974 with a medical hardship. On October 5, 1974, Buck and Barb Danielson were married at the West Side United Methodist Church in rural Oakland. They had two children: Shannon and Wendi. They made their home in Craig. Over the years, Stan worked for Gustafson Plumbing, Danielson Construction, Agland Co-op, and Pearson Farm Service. He currently was employed by his son/boss, Shannon, at Helena. Stan and Barb also owned and operated B & B’s Bar and Grill in Oakland for almost 10 years. Stan was a member of the Craig United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Craig Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Stan enjoyed the many years he was part of the chain gang for O-C football games. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, Nascar racing, drag racing and the cabin at the river. He especially loved his grandchildren. Bucky would do anything they wanted. He enjoyed giving them rides on all his toys whenever they asked. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Danielson. Survivors include his wife, Barb of Craig; son, Shannon Harney of Oakland; daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Joe Anderson; four grandchildren, Tyson, Jaden and Taryn Harney and Braylon Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Lea Harney of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Johnson of Oakland, Joyce and Lyle Fratt of Oakland; Paula Kish of San Salvador El Salvador; mother-in-law, Frelon Danielson of Oakland; many nieces and nephews, other family and a host of friends. FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, February 1, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Craig Auditorium VISITATION: Sunday, January 31, 2010, 1- 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. at theCraig Auditorium. Visitation Monday will be held one hour prior to the service. PRAYER SERVICE: Sunday 7:00 p.m. at the Craig Auditorium BURIAL: Craig Cemetery MEMORIALS: Craig United Methodist Church and the O-C Club
