DORIS MAE GEORGESON, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Lyons and Tekamah, Nebraska.

DORIS MAE (WEDGEWOOD) GEORGESON was born August 22, 1928, in rural Burt County, near Tekamah, Nebraska to Roy and Mamie (Johnson) Wedgewood. She passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at Heatheridge Assisted Living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years.

Doris graduated from Tekamah High School in 1947 and attended Wayne State College, where she received her teaching certificate.

On September 8, 1950, Doris and Merwin H. Georgeson were united in marriage at Papillion, Nebraska. To this union five children were born: Rick, Linda, Ruth, Lee and Lyle.

Doris worked as a switchboard operator in Tekamah for one year and then spent time working as a nanny in Omaha. Doris was a life-long homemaker, loving mother, sister, daughter, friend and care giver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merwin; sister and brother-in-law: Ardeth and Larry Hennig.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Lane Georgeson of Eagle, Nebraska, Lyle and Julia Georgeson of Gretna, Nebraska, Lee Georgeson of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Calvin Rinaker, Ruth and Mike Mallory all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister: Evelyn Miles of Omaha, Nebraska; Joyce Lewis, Beverly and Paul Warren all of Tekamah; brothers: Harold and Mary Lou Wedgewood of Tekamah, Lyle and Joan Wedgewood of Deep River, Iowa.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, June 27, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska
