Clinton Leroy Gaver was born March 14, 1937, in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, to Ernest and Frieda (Moeller) Gaver. He passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at the West Point Living Center in West Point, Nebraska, at the age of 74 years. Clinton attended school in rural Burt County until the age 16. He then worked at the haymill in Herman, Nebraska, until age 18. On December 5, 1955, at the age of 18, Clinton joined the U.S. Army, where he served until his honorable discharge on December 4, 1961. While home on leave in 1958, he met and married Carole L. Schotfeld on April 27, 1958, in Tekamah. They lived most of their lives in Tekamah and he worked as an over-the-road truck driver. In 1990, they moved to Norwood, Missouri. He retired from over-the-road trucking in 1999. Following his retirement he drove for the Amish Community in and around Norwood. He returned to Nebraska, making his home in Craig. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carole on August 15, 2002; two sisters, Mabel Katt and Ruth Fisher; granddaughter, Cheyenne Gaver; two nieces, Deborah Trice and Robin Gorce; three nephews, Kenneth Beaty, Ernest Conklin and Dale Beaty. Survivors include his two daughters, Sonja (Robert) Mitchell of Norwood, Missouri, Fawn Metzler of Mountain Grove Missouri; four sons, Steve (Tammy) Gaver of Norwood, Tony (Kelly) Gaver of Lebanon, Missouri, Earl (Tera) Gaver of Bolivar, Missouri, Scott Gaver of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Lorena Haswell of Lexington, Kentucky, Ellen Boever and Helen (Jerry) Hohenstein all of Craig, Nebraska; brother, Dale (Vicki) Gaver of Blair, Nebraska; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
