ARNOLD JOHN FOYT was born April 2, 1926, in Texas to John and Terrica (Horack) Foyt. He was the youngest of eleven brothers and sisters. He passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years. Because times were rough and America was at war; Arnold left home at age 17 to serve in the Navy and defend his country. He continued his Navy carrier for the next 22 years and served through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. When Arnold retired from the Navy in the late 1960's, he, wife: Verna; sons: Michael and James and daughter: Sharon moved from Highland, California to Tekamah, Nebraska. For the remainder of his life, while living in Tekamah, Arnold was an active member of the VFW Bataan Post No. 3304 and American Legion LaFrenz Post No. 15. Until his health started to fail, A.J. hung the American Flags on Tekamah's Main Street for special holidays. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife: Verna; sons: Michael of Omaha, Nebraska, James of Elkhorn, Nebraska; daughter: Sharon Skintek of Santa Anna, California. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, July 28, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.
