DONNA LEA ECKLEY was born June 10, 1929 in Tekamah, Nebraska to Floyd and Goldie (Morrison) Stewart. She died September 14th, 2011 at the age of 82 years, at the Crowell Memorial Nursing Home in Blair, Nebraska, where she had lived for the past five years. Donna was a life-long resident of Tekamah, and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1947. On May 31, 1948, Donna and Pook Eckley were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah. To this union three children were born, Linda, Rick and Susie. On July 1, 1964, the Eckley family began their own service business - Eckley Service and Marine - which their son, Rick, runs today. Donna served as secretary and part-owner of the business for many, many years. She loved her time spent at the river cabin and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Donna also enjoyed the art of painting and her many bus trips to Branson with her sisters and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pook; her parents, and two sisters, Jocelyn Anderson and Marilyn Nelson. Survivors include her son, Rick of Tekamah; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Hoemann of Greeley, Colorado, Susie and Doug Mahoney of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Rick Eckley of Tekamah, Kerri Dufoe of Lincoln and Lindsey Hoemann of Boston, Massachusetts; six great-grandchildren: Bailey, Colin and Addysen Dufoe , Kaidyn, Zachary and Riley Eckley; sister, Rose Hulsebush of Omaha; brother Hal Stewart of Sherman Oaks, California, and "family by choice", Rusty, Mack, Tony, Maddie and Alex Braniff of Tekamah. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 17, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah NO VISITATION BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery at a later date.
