Margaret M. Danielson "Marge" 1934 ~ 2008 |
|
MARGARET M. DANIELSON “MARGE” was born April 14, 1934, in West Point, Nebraska to Joseph and Anna (Lund) Meier. She passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008, at her home in rural Ashland, Nebraska, at the age of 74 years. Marge graduated from West Point High School in 1951. On April 20, 1952, Marge and Fenlon Danielson, Jr. of Oakland, Nebraska, were united in marriage at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. They were married for 56 years and had two sons: Rick and Dave. Marge and Fen lived on a farm in the rural Oakland, Nebraska area. They moved to Ralston, Nebraska in 1966. She worked at Countryside Pharmacy for many years and then at the HyVee Pharmacy in Omaha, Nebraska. Marge and Fen moved to an acreage in Ashland in 1971, where they spent the last 37 years raising dogs, horses, long horn cattle, ducks and sheep. Marge started showing Schnauzers in 1967 in Obedience at the Nebraska Humane Society at the Omaha Obedience Club later to become the Bellevue Obedience Club. She achieved numerous titles and received numerous trophies in Obedience and Agility. In 2000, she started Herding Trails with Border Collies. She bought her first dog, Bett, from John Holman of Clay Center, Nebraska. John helped Marge get started in training and trials. She joined Heartland Herding Assn., the Nebraska Stock Dog Assn., and the Iowa’s Stock Dog Assn. She won her first Championship in 2006 with Bett and was working on her second Championship with Bren. Marge raised many litters of puppies from her dogs and also has two of the Border Collie puppies that are in training. Marge was a trainer and helped many people get started in Obedience, Agility and Herding. She was truly loved by any people that she has touched over the years and will be remembered by all. Marge was a simple woman. Everyone that knew her understood that she loved God, family, friends and unquestionably her dogs. She devoted her life to them all. Everyone has a good story to tell about her. Our memories of her are embedded in us for the rest of our lives. Survivors include her husband: Fenlon Danielson of Ashland; sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Jane Danielson of Galesburg, Illinois, Dave and Tam Danielson of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Pat, Tom, Shay, Lindsey, Wade and Jace Danielson, Kate Herres. If we believe that we are all here to serve a purpose, then Marge accomplished hers. She thoughtfully and lovingly buried her relatives before her and reminded the family that we now have to move on. She’s not here physically to tell us, but we feel her presence and want to make her proud. She will have to excuse us for not moving on too quickly – she will be long remembered and loved. We can’t ask why we couldn’t have more time with her. Instead we should thank God for the time He let us love her. We will hold her again soon, but for now she’s in His Good Hands. For those who believe that all dogs go to Heaven, we know that Marge is now busier than ever. We love you Babe, Mom, Grandma and friend. Thank you for the memories.
