GORDON SCOTT “GORDY” CORWINE was born November 5, 1958, in Blair, Nebraska to Robert E. and Janet M. (Boraas) Corwine. He passed away peacefully at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska with his family at his bedside on Monday, August 9, 2010. He was 51 years of age.

Gordy attended school in Oakland and graduated from Oakland-Craig High School in 1978. He resided with his father in Oakland.

Gordy enjoyed watching football and baseball with his family and also enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his family. He was always teasing his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Janet; great uncle, John.

Survivors include his father, Robert E. of Oakland; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Carla Corwin of Oakland; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Scott Stearnes of Elkhorn, Nebraska ; nieces and nephews, Dallas Webb of Elkhorn, Justin Corwine of Pender, Nebraska, Scott Stearnes of Elkhorn, Megan and Morgan Corwine both of Oakland.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, August 12, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.

VISITATION: Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 7 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation Thursday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
