Marybelle Connealy

1919 ~ 2011

 

MARYBELLE CONNEALY was born April 12, 1919, in rural Lyons, Nebraska, to Irving G. and Josie (Bucy) Sears Roscoe.  She passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Logan Valley Manor in Lyons, at the age of 92 years.

Marybelle attended Lyons Public School, graduating from Lyons High School in 1936. She was secretary to the Superintendent of Schools for four years.

On April 22, 1940, Marybelle and Tom Connealy were united in marriage at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah, Nebraska. To this union eight sons were born.  Marybelle was a homemaker, living all of her married life on a farm between Lyons and Decatur and spent winters in Mission, Texas, since 1983. She loved gardening, dancing, crocheting and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom (May 13, 2002); an infant son; brother, Max Sears; daughter-in-law, Patricia Connealy; grandson, Stephen Connealy; and great grandson, William Connealy.

Survivors include her seven sons, Larry and Mardelle of Decatur, Tim of Richmond, Missouri, Del and Cheri of Omaha, Keith and Linda of Pensacola, Florida, Max and Lynne of Omaha, Ivan and Mary of Decatur, Sean and Kimberly of Decatur; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

FUNERAL MASS: Tuesday, June 14, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons.

VISITATION: Monday, June 13, 2011, 5 - 8 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary all at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons. Visitation Tuesday will also be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
