GARY LEWIS COLEMAN was born in Cozad, Nebraska, on August 23, 1946, to Leslie S. and Bertha (Peden) Coleman. He passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years.
Gary graduated from Tekamah High School in 1964.  He joined the Air Force following graduation and served his country four years, spending duty time in the United States and Okinawa.  Following his discharge, he returned to spend much of his life in Omaha.  He also lived in the Sioux City area for several years.

On August 22, 1970 he was married to Mary Niels of Elma, Washington.  To this union, four children were born Rachel, Christina, Jessica and Chad.

Gary was a machinist for most of his life and at the time of his death was working for the Omaha Public Schools.  He was an avid pool player as well as a sports enthusiast especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  He dearly loved his children and his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie S. Coleman in 1971.

He is survived by his children,  Rachel Marie (Brad) Elsea of Dakota City, Christina of  New Mexico, Jessica (Gary) Granger of Uncasville, CT and Chad Coleman of Omaha; mother, Bertha of Tekamah; sisters, Joyce (Ronald) Grass of Tekamah, Susan (Jesse) Fink of Syosset, NY, Cheryl (Scott) Hawkins of Kearney and June (Phil) Simpson of Tekamah; four grandchildren, Maurice of Rosemont, MI, Christian  of  New Mexico, Hannah and Spencer Elsea; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 15, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Bataan Post No. 3304 and American Legion LaFrenz Post No. 15
