Alyce M. Cochran

1924 ~ 2010

 

ALYCE MAE (OLSON) COCHRAN was born to Floyd Henry and Gladys Leona (Hightree) Olson February 24, 1924, in Decatur, Nebraska.  She passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, following a lengthy illness at the age of 86 years.

On June 24, 1938, Alyce and Berrel Frank Cochran were united in marriage in Dakota City, Nebraska. They  lived in Macy and then moved to Seattle, Washington, where she was employed at Boeing Airplane Co.  In 1976, they moved to Decatur, where she and Frank were in partnership with the Decatur IGA Store, until retiring in 1992.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Decatur City Hall in 1988 and were married 64 years upon Frank’s death in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carl and Dallas Olson; husband, Frank; and  son-in-law, Paul.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Benedict  of Carnation, WA, Rosemary and  Terry Gosch of Decatur; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Candis Cochran 
of Tonasket, WA; a niece, whom she raised and her husband, Marcia and Alan Frese of Decatur; 20 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren.

 

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, July 23, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur.

VISITATION: Thursday 1- 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Friday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur
