KENNETH HERBERT BRINK was born October 11, 1922, to Herbert and Bessie (Bacon) Brink on a farm northeast of Lyons, Nebraska.  He passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his home in Lyons, at the age of 85 years.

Kenneth attended Park and Bacon Schools and graduated from Blackbird High School in 1940.
On December 16, 1944, Kenneth married Thelma Hansen. To this union three children were born: Gregory, Denise and Bradley. They moved to Decatur in 1947 and returned to Lyons in 1952.

Kenny worked for his brother, Merlin at Brink Produce. He also worked at Smith’s Food Market until his retirement in 1985.

Kenny loved his family and friends. He also loved the Chicago Cubs baseball team and rarely missed a game on TV. He enjoyed his fishing trips and just visiting with family and friends. We will never forget his great sense of humor; he always had a joke to tell.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Merlin and Verle.

Survivors include his wife: Thelma of Lyons; children and their spouses: Gregory and Cherylnn of Lakewood, Colorado, Denise and Roger Svendsen of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bradley and Jill of Lyons;  seven grandchildren:  Dorian (Adam) Garcia, Eric Brink all of Parker, Colorado, Graham (Kerry Tooley) Svendsen of Overland Park, Kansas, Seth Svendsen of Los Angeles, California, Kyle (Sharon) Brink, Kelly and Beau Brink all of Lyons; four great grandchildren: Kaley and Mason Garcia, Payton Brink all  of Parker, Colorado, Zak Tooley of Overland Park, Kansas; sisters: Carrie Erickson of Lyons, Phyllis (Andrew) Necas of Grand Island, Nebraska.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 19, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons.

BURIAL: Private Family Burial in the Lyons Cemetery.
